SUMMARY:Enhutatash (Ethiopian New Year)
DESCRIPTION:Ethiopia celebrates the new year in September as it is considered the time of year when God created the world in seven days. As well, September is the time when rain and storms cease and spring settles in Ethiopia.\nThere are many Enhutatash traditions, one in which a group of girls walk around singing and carrying yellow flowers and are rewarded with food or money. Another tradition is for boys to paint and distribute their work door-to-door and families to light and dance around bonfires. Traditional dishes on this day include chicken stew, injera flatbreads, coffee, honey wine, tela beer and popcorn.\nCultural Infusion offers Ethiopian Dance and Culture with the renowned Seble Girma.\nSee our full list of programs here.\nEducation and Experience\nContact us to make a booking today.\n
