Buddhist Chanting and Mindfulness Through Song

Through this engaging workshop, students explore the role of chanting and song in Buddhist traditions and discover how these practices nurture mindfulness, compassion, and wellbeing. Led by Melanie, the session combines performance, participation, and cultural learning in an accessible and inspiring way.

Students will experience:

  • Live demonstrations of traditional Buddhist chants and songs
  • Group participation – guided practice of simple chants
  • Creative activity – co-creating chants based on values like kindness and respect

Alongside the music, Melanie introduces students to the teachings of the Buddha and explains their contemporary relevance to wellbeing, community, and everyday life. This interactive approach helps students connect ancient traditions with modern concepts of mindfulness and emotional health.
